Yangon- Twante -Bago-Yangon ( 4 days Tour)
Day 1- Arrive in Yangon
Arrive in Yangon and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon visit the world famous golden Shwedagon Pagoda, a breathtaking and colorful sight visited by Buddhists from all over Myanmar. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2- Yangon
A full day tour to discover the colorful capital of Myanmar with a close look at the local life of this historical city. By car and partly on foot this tour takes you to the National Museum, the Sule pagoda in the center of the city. Walk around the Mahabandoola Park to see the colonial courthouse and the city hall. From there a rickshaw tour around the colonial area with the historical buildings will start, breaking at a local tea shop to enjoy Burmese tea and the typical atmosphere. Continue by rickshaw along the famous Strand Road and visit the bustling Yangon harbour. In the afternoon, visit Kaba Aye pagoda dedicated to the peace in the World and the Maha Pasuna cave where the sixth Buddhist synod took place in 1952. Visit nearby a traditional jewellery and gemstones workshop to observe the cut and polishing of Myanmar most precious stones including the famous pigeon-blood rubies.Overnight in Yangon.
Day 3- Yangon- Twante - YangonAfter breakfast, transfer to the jetty and board a small private chartered boat for a 1h45mn journey on the Yangon River to Twante, offering a glimpse of life in the countryside outside the capital. Arrive in Twante, a small bamboo hut village specialized in traditional pottery. Continue by horse and carriage? for a morning sightseeing of Twante including the local market, a ceramics making area where more then twenty family workshops produce ceramic pots using centuries old methods. Also visit the pottery market from where the pots are shipped to Yangon. Return back to Yangon by boat (1h30mn) enjoying the scenery along the river where boats are being loaded with local goods, women are washing clothes and children are playing by the riverside. Back in Yangon the tour continues in the afternoon with some free time for shopping at the huge Bogyoke Market formerly Scotts market, offering a wide selection of Myanmar handicrafts. Finish the day with a walk in colorful Chinatown and visit Yangon oldest Chinese temple: the Kheng Hock Keong. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 4- Yangon- Bago- YangonAfter breakfast at the hotel, leave Yangon and enjoy a scenic journey by road to Bago, 80km to the north west of Yangon. Bago is an ancient capital of a former Mon kingdom dating back to the 6th century. Sightseeing in Bago includes the beautiful 55-meter long reclining Buddha, Shwethalyaung, and the Mon style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most venerated in Myanmar. Its spire stands 114m high and is taller even than the Shwedagon Pagoda. Also visit the well-restored former palace Kambozathadi. End the tour of Bago with a walk around the colourful Bago Market. On the way back to Yangon, visit the Allied War Cemetery near Htaukkyan, the final resting place for over 27,000 allied soldiers, and a local woven bamboo factory. Transfer to the airport
